Life history of juvenile Icelandic cod. HV 2019-61

Recruitment is one of the major events in the life history of aquatic species and information on recruitment is of great importance for stock assessment. The spawning stock biomass of Icelandic cod has increased in the past years, but despite increasing spawning stock biomass recruitment has remained at relatively constant levels. In this report information on early life stages of Icelandic cod, from spawning until the age of four, are summarized by using information from published papers as well as available data from the Marine and Freshwater Research Institute.
