Ray Hilborn
The world renowned marine biologist Ray Hilborn is UNU-FTP guest lecturer this year.
He will be giving a series of lectures at the programme’s auditorium at Skúlagata 4 (1st floor) this September. They are intended for the fellows of our six-month training programme, but, also, for the wider audience of fishery scientists in Iceland.
- Thursday September 14th 9:00-11:30: Hilborn will give the first two lectures. The first is on the status of fish stocks worldwide. The second is on the relationship between how fisheries are managed and outcomes.
- Friday September 15th 13:00-15:30: Hilborn will give the latter two lectures. The first is on challenges in assessing the status of fish stocks in small scale or low information fisheries. The second is on the role of MPAs in fisheries management.
