International Day of Women and Girls in Science is today, February 11th. The United Nations adopted this Day to raise awareness that participation of women and girls in science needs to be strengthened. At present, women and girls are less than 30% of scientist and science students. Women are half of the Earth population; their talents must be better harnessed in science if we are to solve the challenges of the Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Day has been celebrated annually since 2016.
